sorry, there is 4 parts to this,
1. How fast is to fast ???
2. How fast is to slow ???
3. do you adjust speed based on what depth you want your baits to run ?? (faster being deeper, slower being shallower)
4. Do you slow down your speed for less active fish ??

I have caught many walleye going, 2.5, alot of guys will tell you thats way to fast. but its what my boat trolls at with big motor.

Thanks guys, just interested in what guys do..

ive caught eyes trolling at around 3 mph b4, and ive also caught them doing .3 so its a craps shoot on what they want, i usually start around 1.7-1.9 and then go to 2.2 and down to 1.5 and just keep trying diferent speed/ lure combos till i find the hot stick
