My buddy came down from Bradford for the day and we gave the Picton area a try. Due to the forecast we decided quantity not quality would be the program for the day. Dave wanted eaters for the family versus trying for a bigger eye.
He showed up a bit late for the morning bite in fact we never had a line in the water until 9:30. The boat he brought down is new to him and hadn't been anywhere with any serious wave or wind action, so better safe than sorry. But it really wasn't a factor, his boat is a nice 20ft Sea Pro, Bowrider, nice and stable and a nice riding boat, even in the rough stuff.
We covered a lot of territory with the weather being OK for the morning, the afternoon ends up being a different story winds pick up and the waves are now anywhere from 2-4 feet depending where you were. Boat control and speed control were difficult to say the least, boat skating was everywhere, at times the lines were at a 90's to the boat. Then of course the rain.
Needless to say we're still fishing. marked lots of bait and lots of fish, but couldn't get much to commit, had half dozen taps, nothing solid I finally hook into one around 5 pounds. Packed it in around 4:45. A good day with a old friend and fishing buddy.

The only bad part of the day is Dave's kids get to eat, but mom and dad will have to go hungry. LOL!
