I have watched WFN for a few years, and it seems that sheephead are related to salt water drum that are fished heavily down south. In-fact down there many people eat them. I was kinda wondering if they were good for the table or not, and if anyone here has ever eaten one? I ask due to the fact that they seem more abundant where I fish than anything else, but would hate to fillet one as an experiment. Would kinda suck to kill one just to see how it tastes.

My first thought was I hope you're entering the "Slam the Lamb" tourney. :)

I've heard of people eating them but never tried myself.

cheers

I tried one once because I was told they were tasty and would probably would like it.......kept a nice small one to try. Meat was almost a light grey in colour........was nasty. Will prepare next one on a board and throw fish away and dine on the pine. Did not like it at all but give it a try just to say you did!!
