We're back.. Reelsmokin and I headed out this morning and were amazed at how much the bay was frozen over this morning.. Our first spot of choice was the Narrows.. No Way !!! Coming across the Hwy 49 bridge, it was solid.. So much for that !! Headed into Picton and talked to a couple of fisherman there.. It too was solid.. They informed us that the Glenorna Ferry launch is still good with open water.. They were on their way too.. Green Lund with Honda 115.. Thanks for the tip...
Headed to the Glenora Ferry, our first time here, and was amazed at the boats waiting behind us to cross.. Launched the boat, and attempted to start her up.. She was flooded.. Started at home last week fine, what gives ??? Finally got it going and headed to the south shore to try some trolling.. This was a trial and error day for us as we're new to the trolling the deeper waters for them.. I've always jigged for walleye...
There were 12 boats out today. We boated only one 9.5 lbs.. We met Dan Elliott and Iceman at the launch coming home and they boated 14 for the day.. Also ran into Harry with the green Legend.. they just arrived in the afternoon.. We saw a few fish caught today so it's nice to see that they're there..
Would have stayed longer, but I got frustrated with my Merc 50.. It would troll for about 10-15 mins and then stall.. Starts up fine and when I gave her the throttle, she would stall again and again and again.. Very frustrating when you can't focus your attention on the fish and have to worry about your equipment...
Well, we're done for this year and I just want to thank everyone for giving us all the tips on this board and to the guys we met today.. We'll be back next year alot better prepared and with the right tackle..
Take care and tight lines to all..
