We headed to Quinte yesterday from Ottawa, was one crazy day. Got to the spot I wanted to fish, dropped the T8 down and setup the rods, within minutes the kicker was burping then stalled. With a little bit of troubleshooting realized that the water pump is toast and its overheating. I was a little bummed but not a big deal, have the minnkota!! Well that lasted about an hour, had to run it full blast to keep speeds up and within no time the batteries were out. Now I'm getting a little upset, but we pushed on, decided to troll with the 225, it was actually working quite nice, beeing a fourstroke I was able to keep speed fairly close to what I wanted, well that lasted for about an hour, I was switching in and out of neutral a lot, well something happened and the dam propeller fell off, never heard of that ever happeneing, oh well there go 800 bucks but atleast I have a spare prop!! I did have a spare prop but when your prop falls off you loose all the pieces so my prop became useless. Hmmm what to do, I tried flagging a few guys but guess they didn't see me. I went on channel 71 and ask for help.

Instantly Scott and the boys were back on, telling me they are realling there lines and on there way, wow what a great guy and crew. They probably were running 8 lines and we all know how long it takes to real in and set back up. Within minutes they were at my boat with tow cable in hand. They towed me 5 miles to Glenora marina(who were waiting for me with all parts needed) took a good hour to get us there. Thanks again West Lake Willows, we actually were able to get back out and start trolling with the 225. Both my buddies landed a few nice eyes and broke there personal bests, was a tough and expensive trip but always worth it, see you guys on the water next week!!

I saw you getting towed in. It sucks to have to be towed but alt least you got back out. Its great to have
good guys on the water to help. I've been in similar situations.

Class act all the way. It's good to see that there are people out there that are so willing to help a guy out.

I had my prop drop off three years ago, what a horrible feeling. With your kicker in the dump that would be terrible.

When mine fell off, we had the kicker to push the five miles back to the dock.

Glads to hear things worked out - Scott is a GOOD GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Glad we could help out. We had already had a great day on the water, and there wasn't any hesitation from anyone on board. Just pull lines and go.

Just another example of what a bunch of stand up guys they are. I have had the chance to meet all of these guys, some on many occasions and can tell you that I am not surprised they were the boat to help you out.

I also know from personal experience last year I got stranded and Scott was instrumental in getting me and my colleagues off the water safe and sound. He made a call to Sheldon Hatch who then towed me in. Scott is a stand up guy for sure

Glad to hear you got back out and got some fish! I thought we could have got you up on plane if we had a stronger rope lol. Glad you had vhf and your day turned out ok!

No question at all on the boat that we had to help, someday each of us will be in a similar situation and hopefully someone will return the favor. Some of us even get shoals named after us from gettin into these situations :)

im also glad you got back to get some more fish, takes a bit of the sting off the cost of the prop im sure.

I'm with the other guys that were onboard, no big deal at all and glad other than the sting of losing the prop all turned out okay.
Also as Mav pointed out it shows how important a vhf can be when your out on the bay.
Glad you guys were able to salvage the rest of the day and get some fish.
