Laker John and I launched this morning at Shermans around 0730 and headed to Long Reach (Huff's) to see if we could find some fish. As we rounded the lighthouse corner, we felt the sting of the North Wind (20-25K) blowing striaght down the Reach. Never say die, we forged on and began a troll at Huffs Red marker and trolled northward into the wind.

We almost reached Catalaqui Shoal and crossed over to the county side and set out the drift sock as we were starting to rocket down the reach. We were changing lures every 25-30 mins, looking for the right one. Finally the board hesitated and we had a fish on a Flicker Shad. Unfortunately, we reeled in the fish and it was MR Pike - not what we were looking for.

We realized that wind had picked up,so we headed down the Reach and began a short troll at Shermans, the planer board hesitated again and we reeled in another pike - Darn..... Dr. Death works on them too.

We were headed up Hay Bay and by the time we were at the launch ramp, it was blowing a ton from the east. DIgression is the better part of valour and we hit the launch ramp and loaded the boat at 1045.

Total time was about three hours on the water.

Heading back to Kingston, we took a detour over by Rte 133 and followed the shore, saw four boats out there fighting the easterly waves - lotsa luck guys - Bet the bite was on.....

Will wait and head back on Monday.

Stay Tuned

David aka Superdad

"Digression is the better part of valour" ??!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Better a homonym than a homo, especially in my boat, mate.
