As you may have read my rod, reel, lure was stollen by a fish yesterday. So I am now trying to replace it. What braided line manufacture do you recommend? I can't remember what I had on it but I liked it. Used only for trolling never casting. Green 30lb but same dia as 10lb mono and made in USA.

Suffix 832 is excellent, strong and you can use 6 lb test and never loose a fish. You keep the diameter small and can spool up quite a bit of line.

If you tie directly to your lures with braid, you will get tangles though. If they don't tangle around the hooks of the lure you are using, the end of the rod will tangle... Grab some 20lb Fluorocarbon and tie a UNI to UNI knot with about 4 ' leader.

Not true I have been using Tuf Line Duracast now for about 15 months its coated braided line thats meant to be used on spinning reels. Best braided line I have ever used, lure tie ups and tip knots and tangles are absolutely gone. I was hesitant of their claims at first now I swear by it too, I now see it being used by Charlie Wray also. Its american made and can be hard to find in Canada in some spots. I found it in Bancroft from Chestners Outdoors, not sure if Bass Pro in Canada has it but I know their US stores do. I stocked up last time when I was at Gander Mountain. Check out all the reviews and their website, I will never put anything else on a spinning reel. I started off trying it on one reel then I took all my other braids off the others and got rid of it, Suffix 832 is way over rated and over priced. Yeah its nice looking line but take nail clippers with you cause you gonna get tons of knots. Not worth the hassle or price.

Hope this helps : http://www.tuf-line.com/products_DuraCast_6.html

Tuf Line Duracast has some less than stellar reviews. Most complain to the line weakening over time and larger diameters than most braids.

I am tempted to try this Power Pro, seems to get good reviews

Power pro . I use red because it's one of the first colours to disappear in the water.
