Hi everyone! I am a first time BOQ fisherman with my maiden voyage getting under way tomorrow (Nov 9tH). I know I'm not in the loop as far getting all the special honey holes for Walleye, I was just hoping to be possibly pointed in the right direction. The blog hasn't looked good as far as what has went on in the past week, but I know from experience, not everyone posts everything. I'm gonna be spending the night at Merland Park on my first of many (I hope) trips to BOQ. Not looking for the trophy, I'll be happy to start with one (at a time)

Welcome...everyone new to the board is looking for the same secret recipe as was I. We fished last weekend in October for 3 days with only 1 Eye. East of the ferry you get 2 lines so that should increase your chances, the majority of the fish that were caught when we were there were east of the lighthouse along the shoreline well east of the ferry...that would be where I would start but is quite a run from Merlands and wind depending. Thompsons and Sherman's point are another choice and may protect you from any Easterly winds... located up the reach and north of the ferry.

Once you do hook into one try and stay on them, many make the mistake of continuing to troll thinking they are all over or at least hitting all over.

Best advice I had was to go out thinking about landing a World Record Sheepshead 22+ and you'll probably have a hard time keeping the pesking Walleye's off the hooks.

Good luck and be sure and report back.

Well gents, I want to thank the people that gave me some direction as far as where to start. Unfortunately, the Walleye aren't cooperating. Not a single hit all day. Tried trolling, jigging and back to trolling. Threw everything at them. I guess I'm too early. One other thing, the ramp at Merland Park here is far from great. Is there a better one at the restaurant and motel at the end of Picton bay. Can't remember the name of it...
