to nice a day for work or school so i brought my 6yr old reid up from ny. put in at the ferry at 6am and started fishing east. got the last line in and hit a 2lbr on a tdd silver flash with 100ft of fireline a 1.5oz snap weight then 20 ft to the board.when we got to 120 fow started marking fish at 60 to 90 ft, pulled in the inside boards and ran #12 deep husky jerks with 100 out then a 6oz snap weight, one with 80ft out and one with 100ft out. ended up with 8 of the 9 hits on the jerks.total was 3 eyes and 1 sheep, big eye was 6.2lb. 33% on a great day with the little guy,i'll take it.

i can't say how deep for sure,i hade about a 45 degree angle in the line, next week i will try 16oz to get the weight closer to the boat and a little more fine tuned.with 90ft out i think i was about 60 feet down to the weight and with 100ft to the jerk it was running around 75ft down.

What is the survival/mortality rate of pulling eyes from that deep? I would think you see alot of blown air bladders.

I think they would survive long enough to make it to the frying pan  , catch and release only works when you aren't hungry :D I think most people know anything over 30 ft is table fare

the 2lbr brought up did blow, but by the time we got home he had swallowed it back down and all fish were alive and tryin to jump out of the live well.do they reajust themselves after awhile in the box or was this one just tough.this was kind of the first time i ran weights that deep.
