Headed down to Merland Park Thursday morning. By the time we checked in, unloaded and launched the boat, we didn't get on the water till around 1 pm. Kind of a waste of the first day. Was hoping to be on the water in the morning, but couldn't check in early. Had my girlfriend and my dad (he's 85) with me, and fished for about 2.5 hours and my dad had to go back to shore. We did manage a to hook into a 9.2 pound Walleye. My PB. Friday, my dad decided to stay at the cottage, so we headed out at 7 a.m. and actually got a full day on the water. Winds were a bit high from the west, so we decided to troll the cement plant. Ended up with a 4.8 and a 9.8 my girlfriends PB. Saturday, the wind blew us off the water, and only fished for about 3 hours in the morning with no fish caught. The high winds kept me out of Adolphus, so was pretty much glued to the cement plant. Under the circumstances, it wasn't a bad weekend. Fish were caught on Trolls To 20's (Firetiger and Clown) and Deep Husky Jerk (Perch) No luck with TDD 11's and RR's. Lots of big fish come into the park Saturday afternoon by others, and unfortunately they all ended up in the frying pan.

Thanks alot guys. I've been fishing walleye for 30 years, and Quinte for about 10 years, but I'm pretty new to the deep water/planer board thing. I used to put my boat away in October and fish off shore the rest off the season LOL. Got skunked last fall on 3 outings. Nice to get that Monkey off my back!!!
