hello everyone,i am new member,just want to say great informative forum,have gotten alot of usefull info here over the years,thanks to the integrity of the members.my first question is if there is any ice at foresters island area.i hope some local member can help me out,hoping to come out saturday.stay safe dont go alone and let someone know where your going and when you will be returning,good luck to all this season

tim,
at this early point in the season i dont think anyone will tell you the ice is safe anywhere on Quinte. Guys are fishing but the ice is really spotty at best. I was out in big bay on wednesday and there was 4 inches at best. today i was in deseronto and even thinner at 3 inches. You could jump on the ice and watch water spash out your hole. We were in a group of 4 and we stopped every few yards to check ice. Welcome to the forum and hopefully will read of your success fishing, of yours soon as the ice is thicker.

thank you Dan for the speedy response and valuable info,i have been fishing all seasons for 30 years or so lol always go with safety in mind,will use ropes and spud and wont go any further if ice isnt safe,ice has the last say,cheers Dan good luck out there and be safe
