I'm looking to upgrate to a Power Auger this year, but I don't think I want a gas auger, as they can be tough to start in cold weather if you don't take care of it, and I don't want any gas spilling on top of my ice hut/sled as I am walking out. I was looking at the StrikeMaster Electra Lazor 1200. Has anyone ever used one?? Where can I get one around here?? Thanks.

Hi

I bought one from Vaughan Mill Bass pro and use it since than.
I drill average 10 holes every time and it still got lots of juice for more holes but I don't like to move around. Overall 9/10 and nearly perfect for what I want .
Also save the environment too. Hope it help!

I also have the StrikeMaster Electra Lazor 12000 (8") and would purchase it again without hesitation. I think again it depends on whether you move around a lot. I don't move a lot and have never run out of juice and it has lots of power. That being said, last season was my first year with it and I generally fished Quinte so it didn't get a great workout like it would on inland lakes with more ice, e.g., Lake Simcoe. You can always carry a spare battery as well! Good Luck!

I used one last year and I have a little different opnion, I fish the ottawa mainly and there's usually about 14-18 inches of ice on the ottawa, on the 8th hole its juiced, I then have to hook it up to an another battery or vehicule so I have to pull out the 10 foot cables, and drive or drag the battery or truck to the holes I want to drill. Then you have to charge it everytime you go out, its also not that powerfull and jams most the time in the deeper ice, I sold it this summer!! Buy a propane or gas!

I have one as well, and they are awesome!
You can easily do 25-35 holes (through about 6") on a single charge no problem!
I always carry an extra battery just in case, or if I'm moving a lot and scouting for fish.
Def worth the investment!
