Just got back from Picton Bay Area. Saturday 14th 3:00 pm. Open water in front of Cement Plant then a short jont of thin Ice maybe a 200 yard stretch extending toward the reach. Open water all around Glenora Marina and it is all wide open water from the Marina out west of the ferry as far as i could see. From what i could tell it looks like a fare bit of White Ice on top of what we had. The reach looked to be all Ice and very white as well as Picton Bay. I cold not see any snow on the ice as it looks like it melted in and formed the white crust on top. I could not get out with the spud to check any places for thickness because i am not walking to good the past couple of days but if i am able to get out and cut some holes i will let you know what i find.... Fred

Just got back from potters,Theres a few guys out there by the green bouy went out and checked the ice, There was about 2 to 3 inches of white ice on top of about 4 inches of black and when i spudded a hole the white ice just broke off the black ice in a huge chunk. Also the ice was makeing a lot of noise so thats a good thing at least it was makein more ice.

stay safe

You could have launched today from the Ferry but after tonight i doubt you will be able to get in Low for tonight -16 and no wind. I would also question Finkels launch in Bath it may also freeze tonight. The ramp at the Glenora Marina was a go today as well with just a bit of pack ice floating around but they have the ramp blocked for the winter... Fred

I drove by Bath on way home last night and it was still open water. There was ice forming around the Lafarge docks though. Not sure if it froze overnight or not... There was a crazy amount of "fog" over the water...
