We started around 8:30 am on friday at indian island, ice measured 10" all the way out being a mix of white and clear. We setup and put the camera down and we were right around a nice rock pile so we were ready to go. There was hundreds of perch around but none of any size. After awhile I decided to move closer to the island. Drilled a hole and after about 3 jigs BAM, line starts screaming. After about a 5min fight I pulled out a 9lbs pike, my biggest so for. pack up around lunch to get some sleep for midnights. Headed to wellers bay saturday morning, we checked the south side only to find open water so we go back to he north side. Walking and checking the ice every 30 yds were measured 9" of black all the way to our spot but we could also see open water about 200 yds away and all day it was making alot of noise (booming and cracking) a couple of times it had us ready to run for shore. Only managed 1 hammer handle and a couple of small perch but it was great just to finally get out.

Stay safe out there,

Mobb.
