Quinte Fishing

Got out behind the water plant in bayside on sat and sun there was 5 to 6 inches of ice 1 inch of white rest was black we were on the ice at 530 was the third person was set up and fishing by 6 half hour of into wetting the lines my buddy says he has a fish on and its a good on was till dark so only could see the white belly thinking its an eye and when she come to the hole we cant get it out little bit of work and here she comes when she comes through 6 pound gar shocked the s*&$ out of me got the fish back in the water and started to fish again the bite started at about 7 i went 1 for 3 he was about 3 pounds my buddys couldnt manage a fish they lost some but the bit was fast only about half hour then they were gone sunday only got one hit got it to the hole and she let lose looked to be about 2 to 3 pounds will be out sat and sun if the ice holds up

Thats like the 3rd report of gars through the ice in that area. Wierd ,as i've been running this board since 97 and nary a single ice report of gar and this year 3 in a row
