Has anyone tried going up this way for any ice fishing?

I'm not focusing on walleye, so anything for a laugh will do.

I know Germans Landing is known for huge fall musky, but I wonder what its like for fishing through the ice.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Glen Ross at the lock anyways is 8-10 ". The boys have thier bikes and hard huts all over. I seen 2 guys drilling really close to the current in the main part of the river about 50 yards from open water and they had 7".

Right in front of the ramp at German's Landing is usually fine, but that's usually about it. There's a good current all the way through the area of German's Landing and the whole area is sketchy in the best of years. I've seen open water in the middle right up to the bay at the top of the island. On good years (normal cold) we used to race the quads up and down the back channel and even then, I've seen it open in front of the campground.
I fish the back channel too, and I have stayed away from there as well this year. If you do go check the back channel, both bridges are the worst spots as it squeezes the water through and creates a stronger around them. We always went around them on shore with the bikes and never went under them.
Same applies up by Myersburg out in the river in front of the locks. The lock channels themselves at either end are always fine though.
All I can say is always use caution on ice anywhere, but be overly extremely cautious in that area and especially this year.
