Hey guys went out today for the first time in front of my cottage between Huffs and Green point and could only make it out about 175 yards before the ice got really scary! We took every precaution for safety with floater suits, spudding our way out, had rope ready and drilled holes every 50 yards. The thickest ice we saw was maybe 3 inches and very sketchy. If you are thinking of going out please be careful there was a lot of holes that looked open but didnt get close enough to check for sure! I personally wont be going out again until we get more ice but was just itching to get out and wanted to check ice conditions for myself. Anyway I managed to get one eye about 2lbs. I didn't see anyone out at Huffs and only 1 person down the other way, maybe from the ice access near the Dew drop in? Anyway I don't recomend going out in that area but if you must please take every safety precaution!! Let's pray it gets cold next week!
