I had a great time fishing BoQ this past fall , it's a GREAT fishery. I was just wondering if the Spring fishing compares , as far as numbers and size.
We usually head up North for opening week end , but I'm thinking of hitting the Bay. Is it worth a shot ?

Hey WallyHunter, I have fished Quinte the past 2 openings, in the spring, and the fishing is just as good. There is also a couple of derbies that go on, with excellent prizes, I personally enter the Trenton Kiwanis one. There are numbers and sizes to be caught in the spring. Considering the 10th biggest fish at last Kiwanis Derby was 11.22 lbs, that pretty much says it all. So, you ask if its worth a shot, absolutely, I'll be there again.

Here is the link to the Kiwanis Derby info...

The spring fishing is good. However, when compared to the fall I have to say that the size and numbers of Walleye are far better.

You have to remember in the fall the Walleye are actively feeding on the shad in the bay. In the spring, the Walleye are concentrating on spawning and therefore don't feed that heavy.

Still I won't turn down a trip in the Spring.

Cheers,

Mike
