Just wondering where all the walleye might be these days. I have put in 2 full days so far in the last week with only a 13 incher to show for it. Did this wierd spring weather beat them up that bad?

What depth of water are you targetting???? A lot of fish are VERY shallow.

I have been trying all depths, but I would have to say 9' is about the shallowest I have gone. Are you talking shallower than that?

I did very very well on smaller (2-4lbs) in 2-8 fow on opener weekend. Big husky jerks worked slowly at night in sandy shallows was the ticket for me! Best walleye action I've ever had. Going again tonite, hopefully the patter remains solid.

I did the same thing, trolled in 10-15 feet, saw guys catch fish shallower in, so we moved in and caught fish.
Lots of the 7-8 feet deep flats are holding tons of fish right now. blue/silver and chart seem to be the hot colors..
Pic is off, my first walleye, caught open water walleye season 2012, caught another 15 or so this trip. all released.

Good luck.

I found they fished the same way last spring, but for some reason i went back to my pattern that was working at the end of may.
