I'm headed home from a great trip to visit my brother in Cape Cod. We spent four mornings fishing black sea bass and absolutely spanked them. The first three days we took limits of 10 fish each using jigs and plastics and thought we really had them really dialed in. Yesterday I decided to try to change things up and used a jigging spoon. They loved it and you didn't have to re-rig the plastics. Seemed to outfish jigs two to one. We ended up keeping 130 fish and most were larger males. They need to be 14" to keep but we were catching them up to 22". The larger fish were in the six pound range. We have them all filleted and frozen (aside from a few we ate) and they are an absolutely delicious fish on the table. My wife fished three of the mornings with us and she had a blast.

Wow, sounds like fun, is this fishing from shore or out of a boat ??
I think it would be a fun trip.

I striper fish in RHODE ISLAND we get the sea bass when we cant get out due to weather. we also tuna fish I am fortunate to have a friend there with a 35 foot cabo last summer got my first sword fish 150 lb. what a battle.. this area is a great place to fish. we normally go out between 80 and 130 miles for tuna but the stripers are close to shore. I hate when the fuel truck comes lol.

I've done the tuna trip with a friend and the gas can be pretty costly. I generally stick to the stripers, bluefish, fluke, and sea bass but may try the tuna again this summer.
