Quinte Fishing

I just picked up an okuma magda 30
With a gl downrigger rod.
Was thinking of making this a lead core set up
I found a "ready to troll lead core line kit"
It consists of 300ft backing 300 ft of 27lb core
And even 50 ft of 20 lb mono.
Im questioning if this will be too much for the reel
Or not. Does anyone have an answer to if this
Will fit ?

It depends what you are using for backing. with 300 ft of 30# Power Pro it would fill this reel to about 97%........but I would think 300' is a little short for backing, especially if you plan to run them off boards for salmon. I run 300 YARDS of 30#Power Pro on my 30 series okuma's and they hold 5 colors nicely. sometimes I bump it up to 50# backing as I find it holds better in the release and it fills the reel full with 5 colours 20' 20lb leader.
