Anyone know of a place in the Belleville area that repairs Minn Kota Motors? I have a PowerDrive V2 55 that stopped working last night. It still has power to it and turns but the prop will not spin. I've checked for fishing line...none and the prop spins freely so no bushing / bearing problems. I suspect it is brushes due to the fact that it seemed to loose power over the last month or two. I may open it up myself to see if there is water in it and any minor maintenance I can do myself. Any suggestions or recommendations for a repair facility would be appreciated.

Thanks

Shaggy

I had that problem 2 years ago and took it to Belleville Sport and Lawn and they hooked me up. They explained to me it wasnt their specialty but the did a great job with it. They cant do waranty repairs though.

Go to the Prop Shop in Kingston. Mine did the same thing last year and it's a 2 minute fix. The circuit board in these trolling motors are a known problem.

Ditto on the prop shop in kingston. I've been in a jam a few times over the years and they always helped me out at a very fair price

They also do great skeg repairs and they're great guys. You can screw around with different spots but most of them send them to The Prop Shop. They are an authorized Minn Kota depot and they have the parts.

I have that same problem every once and a while with my power drive...i fix it by putting a little dielectric grease on the connector that goes to the foot switch and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the tip but I don't think that is the case as I have the Copilot system and have tried both the foot pedal and wireless with no luck. The motor turns but the prop does not spin. Only clicks when engaged. I have connected the battery directly to the motor and it spins therefore I suspect the circuit board which from what I hear is a common problem. Thanks for all the input guys....looks like a trip to Kingston is in my future.
