Hi Guys,

I am not all rigged up for salmon so I can't really head for them, looks like a blast out there though. I was wondering if you can still get into the Browns in the Athol Bay area or around Salmon Point. I have heard they stay in there through June/July but seems like everyone is down by the Bonnet. I had a great time catching them earlier this year and would love to go again. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

you can catch browns. lakers. and bows all summer buddy. and salmon..... why arnt you after salmon? pick up a dipsy rod and have fun with a real fish lol not that a 12 pound brown or a 14 pound laker isnt a real fish but they just dont scream out the line like a salmon does. it really dont take much to rig for a salmon buddy you dont HAVE to wave down riggers get a good copper set up. or a dipsy rod. id say if you asked 100 salmon guys out there if they could only have one set up what would it be and 95% would say no doubt a dipsy rod rigged with wire expessally right now

Right now you could run a smaller sized dipsy and just let more line out to get down to where the Salmon have been at. Which would let you use lighter gear. Maybe put some tougher line on though :)

Thanks for the replies. I have never fished salmon, have no idea of the set-ups, never used a dipsy. I like to get out with someone that knows what they are doing before I go spend a bunch of money on trial and error. I will look into the set-ups and rods you are talking about, but I would likely need to get out with someone who knows their *** first. Thanks for the tips though.
