Quinte Fishing

The 2012 Belleville Police Cops, kids fishing derby will take place on Saturday June 30th, 2012 from 09:00 to noon at Victoria Park, Belleville. The youth fishing derby is free to all kids and includes a free lunch and prize for each participant. There will trophies for the winners of the following events longest fish, smallest fish, and most accurate cast, longest cast, based on age and gender categories. There will be a large live-well so the youths can see some big Bass, Pike and Walleye, there will be face painting as well. The first two hundred kids will get a free derby T-Shirt.

Kids can register by stopping in the station and getting a flyer and filling it out or going on line to the Belleville Police web site and look under events for June for the flyer. Kids should bring their own fishing gear and if they don’t have any we have some loaner rods etc…

Help needed for the kids fishing derby,

Two years ago we borrowed the live-well from the Quinte Series and we used it to house fish for the little ones to view while their hanging around the derby. It went over well and we are planning to do this again this year. So we need assistance from anyone willing to get up early and go fishing for a large pike, walleye, Bass, Perch the little ones love it.

Anyway if this peaks your interest please send me an e-mail, or if you want to come down and volunteer its great to see little ones catch their first fish or their biggest fish
