Hey guys,

I just purchased a new Princeraft Starfish DLX BT and put a small tear in the flooring when taking out one of my seats. I was wondering if anyone has done that here and if so how do I repair it. I assume that I could just glue it back down, but would hate for the edge of the tear to keep on getting caught on things.

Any tips on repairing the marine flooring would be greatly appreciated. I know I could take it to the dealer, but that would mean $$$$.

Thanks.

What about talking to a flooring guy? They have materials for glueing down vinyl floor I'm sure. Just make sure whatever you use is waterproof.

Here is what i done in a camper trailer that had a 6 " tear in the floor. I first made sure that it was very clean under the tear then i took a small paint brush and applied a coat of contact cement to the floor and the underside of the vinyl. I let it sit for a few min until it gets that dry look then I pressed it down and rolled it with a rubber roller but a rolling pin would work. I then put a piece of wax paper over the tear and put a flat heavy weight on it overnight and the next morning you could hardly see where it tore. I had a small amount of the glue come through because i wanted to make sure that i had glue on the torn edge but lightly dampen a cloth with some varsol and it cleaned right off. Sold the trailer 4 years later and it was still fine...

There is a company in Kingston called Vinyl Magic, they may be able to tell you what would be best. Not sure where you are from but I am sure there would be a similar company your way.
