Was wondering if anyone would know of a good spot that the girlfriend would be able to take the nephews fishing from shore in the stirling area.... The one young lad is having a hard time catching fish and she would love to see her nephews face light up catching a big large mouth, pike, walleye or whatever we could find in stirling.... Please help make a young boys day be a day he will never forget...
Thanks

Not much in Stirling, although i have *heard* that at one point the creek that runs through the town was stocked with Browns. Judging by the weeds and warm water, might doubt it though.

I think your best bet would be to drive down to Glen Ross, which isn't too far. you can fish off the locks or any of the spots on the deeper side (life jackets !). Also, when i was younger, i used to catch quite a few Crappy off the Anderson Island Bridge where it crosses the channel.

Other than that, Oak lake has some pike in it.

Stirling doesn't have much water around it, so thats pretty much all you got.

good luck !

Give Oak Lake a whirl or try the Trent river. Frankford is close with lots of shoreline to fish from. When I was a kid, I remember knocking the blazes out of the Speckles and Brookies in the Stirling creek.

Cross the dam at Glen Ross which will give you access to flat rock for easy wading and little current with plenty of action with smallmouth, rock bass and decent sized fallfish. You will likely sport gar sunning themselves as well. Mitch

You might ask the owners of the canteen half way down the lake, or the campground owner at the far end of the lake if they would let you fish from the docks at Oak Lake.
