huge muskies at number one dam Trenton

Was down at the number 1 dam across from the car dealers in Trenton and the muskie fishermen are cleaning up. I caught a 50 incher and the guy down stream from me showed me some pics of a 56 incher he took out in July

. I've seen over 15 large muskies come out in a month. Does anyone know if its usually this good or is it just because of the drought we've been having? Just thought I would share this great place with my fellow muskie fishermen. Also catching big bass between the 2nd and 3rd footings there all large mouths about 4 -5 pounds.

Been there 8 times in the last 2 week with no luck....

Sounds like great fishing. Congrats on the 50". Here's hoping that the fish getting the"took out/come out" treatment were only temporarily detained for a pic and some measurements before being released. CPR, Catch-Photo-Release, helps ensure the future of the fishery for these magnificent fish. Fiberglass replicas are about the same price as a skin mount, last longer and the real fish is still out there reproducing and getting bigger for the next angler who catches them.

all of the muskies I caught and saw caught were photographed and released. I like to continue catching them so its best for everyone to live release. I find that the muskies are biting really well on the largest live target lures, and large hard body swim baits around 8 inches long. cant keep the bass off once you start using buzz baits and smaller lures. colour doesn't really seem to effect them, however fire tiger has been working well

I will get some pictures of the ones caught shortly, caught a nice one earlier today around 38 inches, not one the monsters in there but still fun to catch. been using Dadson blades now, the Boo Radley in fire tiger is what I caught the one today on.

Are they catching these right below the dam or below the rapids down stream? I am thinking I might take the boat up to the high train bridge and fish the shorelines Sunday morning.

The majority has been caught immediately below the dam, There is a large pool of water in front of the dam about 15-20 feet deep and about 150m across. Don`t get me wrong there are plenty to catch down stream a ways however the biggest ones and the majority of them that I have seen this year have been caught immediately below the dam before the rapids. Hope this helps.
