I was watching a video of Kevin L of Merland Park and Shaun Rickard they had a aluminum fishing net that looked like it said magnus on the handle and it had a scale built right into it so when you landed a fish you just held fish in net holding it upright in the net look at the handle and you could see what fish weighted. The handle was also telescoping just wondered if anyone has ever seen this net and if so where a guy could purchase one. Looked like it would be handy . Thanks

test the scale.

it is very "fish" friendly.

my buddy uses one, but if you want one, buy it for the net, not the scale.

I bought it at the Belleville sportsman show last year, he was asking 25 or 30 I think. The guy had a small table, he might be there again this year at the show.
My son told me that he wants it and has has used it as well, says the scale was off about 2 lbs, might be able to ajust it somewhere. Sorry Mhtrapper.

ya, 2lbs is right on small weights...

last time my buddy tested it, it was off 5lbs on a 13lbs fish.

weighed 18lbs.... real weight - 13lbs.

and yes, it was a walleye.

too bad my buddy kept it. he really thought he had a 18lbs'er....i saw the photo, and told him to weigh it on a digi scale....he did.....and was brought back down to earth.

By the sounds it might be easier to get a frabill power catch and keep carrying scales.

well, i dont think it is possible to have an accurate scale based on how a net is used.

the scale is in the handle, which takes tons of pressure when netting a fish.

the scale would quickly become uncalibrated.

i'm just not sure its possible to have an accurate scale, and remain accurate, in a net handle.

I have one as well, i find it to be fairly accurate on bass, but as a old school spring scale only gives a ball park figure. they have to be calibrated to be accurate, and that sounds like a pain...

Steve, is the net handle not held in place, by the alluminum clips ?

Just trying to think if there is a way to add a more accurate scale. but like you said, key is to insure there is no pressure on the spring.
