I have watched and selectively been assigned to this area on occasion and saw this note on the Fishing News website. (location: Kenora area)

There has been yet another very public "enforcement blitz", including involement of a very hefty budget item; an aircraft deployed (great idea even if it is just used on the odd ocasion....keeps the baddies on their toes).

I applaud this type of proactive stance. It shows thought on behalf of the enforcement surpervisor, knowledge and likely strong, intelligence about the area and high impact areas.....and public relations skills. I note that they have access to less budget dollars, staff and have a larger and far more geo. challenged area. Interesting.......I am happy.

This is needed in BOQ.......it can be done. The right staff (there are lots of good staff waiting for a chance) combined with bold, decisive, smart/wise leadership....sprinkle in some good PR....and BOQ could have a winner. And please....not on opening day of walleye (major faux pas).......pull a few gill nets to boot (I understand there are ample illegal targets to choose from).

Right on ODG re BOQ. A lot more can be done by the local MNR with an innovative approach even with limited budget and staff. Pulling illegal nets is a great start. If you know of the presence of nets, surely the MNR staff are aware or can be aware with the gathering of the right intelligence.
