1 year ago last weekend we made it out on the ice and hammered the lake trout. Different story this year, we made it out and hammered the lake trout again, except this time in the boat. Here is a video of the highlights, it was nonstop action with 40 lake trout landed. I forgot the gopro at home and I apologize that I need to remember to turn my phone sideways while filming

Gotta love those days where you can't do nothing wrong !!

Ours was not one of them this time lol. Was great being out there this time of year.
Any guess on how many were naturals?

Congrats,

Hans.

That looks like fun Rob, good job and nice video, I'm not sure your passenger is well suited for TV though, he kinda has a face for radio  Don't tell Dan I said that!

HAHA, I'm telling Dan! Mel was looking at the pictures and asked if he ever smiles, I guess he only smiles on the inside.
Did you get out for some fall walleye this year? We had a few great trips for walleye this fall.

No late Fall walleye trips for me this year, we went on a charter October 23 with BOQ charters and had a great day, landed 2 nice ones, we were out to Melville a hand full of times with a little success nothing too spectacular, We are pretty dedicated duck hunters so we usually spend our Saturdays on a shoreline somewhere on the island chasing diver ducks in the fall once the marsh freezes, Dad is looking at new boats in the 20ft range and he seems to be getting more interested in fall fishing, not sure we could pull Ryan away from the duck blind though, but a 20ft boat and a fishing partner would mean getting out more in the fall for sure. I'm surprised the lake didn't freeze this week, it seems that its all steamed out, must not have been calm enough.

It was skimming this morning, I thought it might have froze but not quite.
I hear you about Ryan, my son Lance loves the ducks too, he is even starting to make his own calls. Awesome news about your dad upgrading his boat. Is he going tin or glass? Maybe you and Ryan can come out again this summer for salmon when I don't have a charter

He's looking at a lund tyee tin, nice boats!! we were up to the boat show on Sat looking around, he's had that 196 princecraft since 1992 and the boat is a 1991, its been bullet proof, and reliable, but its starting to get rough. that's cool lance making his own calls, ya let me know about a trout trip if you want, Ryan Just loved it when he got to go out with you last year, I didn't get any of it but he said the fish turned out great in his smoker.
