Does anyone know off hand who can order in IMPORT Mitchell reel parts ?
I have a Mitchell Full Control Expo Triggerdrag import reel ( they don't make them in Canada or USA) I have called both Mitchell Canada and Mitchell USA and both places can't order import Mitchell parts for some reason and told me to find someone that does. I have the part number I need ( the trigger broke on the reel)
Any suggestions are appreciated

Thanks for the reply, however he was the second place I tried. He doesn't do import reel parts . He couldn't find the part I was looking for .
I have the booklet in hand with the breakdown of all parts of the reel, as I say, it's just a matter of finding a reel shop that's able to have an import catalogue .
They are a great little reel, I had a nice pike on the other day and was playing him, I think I pulled up on the handle a little too much and snapped the trigger.
Here's a pic :Image
It's the trigger handle part : 1108483

JB Weld, an epoxy that is as hard as metal. It can be drilled, taped and filed into what ever shape. I used it on side casings of dirtbikes and many other things, it's strong and it works. Buy it at Crappy Tire and try glueing it back together with it. Rough up and degreaes (rubbing alcohol) the part around where it is broke and slightly build it up, cheap fix and fast.

Try The Reel Doctor in Edmonton or Mikes Reel Repair in Abbotsford. Reels were made and sold in different markets with this one being a design I have not seen in about 15 years. You can google them with both having decent websites. Trigger drags were interesting to get used to, with me being interested in reaquiring a 5540RD at some point, as it was a fun learning curve to learn to control your finger, while fighting a fish.

Failing the first two suggestions I gave, I would suggest if possible to access a European based repair business, ideally an older one.

Just a few ideas. I have no more information pertinent to this query.

Good suggestion on the JB Weld. I wish I had tried that B4 trying Lepage B4 failing miserably. I'll still give that a shot.

Thanks for the 2 recommendations to try for the part. I'll call them on Mon. Or Tues

That's a pretty cool reel, never seen a trigger drag.
Found it on ebay.

I've fished with only triggerdrags since Mitchell introduced them in the 1980's
I still have a vintage never seen the daylight Mitchell 3550 RD triggerdrags .
They stopped making them for 20 yrs , now they started again but only as an import. Here's a pic of one of the originals I have that's still brand new yet about 25 yrs old Imagewith original box

I have a total of 4 of the newer ones which are really nice however I'm thinking they aren't making the trigger as strong as they use too lol
