Hello Fellow fisher folk!

My name is Gerrit, a lot of you may know me from other forums.... a lot of you may not lol

I have recently moved to the Quinte area, (Brighton) from south of Hamilton (Caledonia)

I have been out fishing several times in various areas... with limited success... I have fished Butlers creek, Cold creek, Presquile point, Murray Canal, the trent out in Frankford, and a river in Marmora...

catching mostly 1-2lb Bass...

I am limited to shore fishing as I had to sell my boat as part of my divorce (but thats another story...)

I am wondering if there are any additional fishing opportunities around me that I am missing... I see people talking about Wellington etc... I assume that means Wellington county?

I am wondering if anyone can lead me into the right direction on locations to fish from shore in and around the area... I am a multi-species angler, Pike, Bass, Perch, Pickeral, Trout all are good to me....

So if you could help out a fellow angler gain his bearings it would be appreciated! :) I am not looking for your honey holes and anything sent to me via PM will remain private.

Thanks folks, what a great resource you have here dedicated to the quinte area!

Tight Lines,

G.

Welcome to the board Gerritt.

I'd try Wellington docks, Massassauga Point, Bay Bridge, Meyers Pier, mouth of the Trent as well as the #1 Dam.You might even want to head to Napanee??

That should keep you busy for a while. Good luck.

Even nearby Butler Creek area or I believe that Salem Cr, Cold Cr. is also in the area. Moira R. and any point has some seasonal merit. As with any area check your regulations as the creeks I mentioned should both be closed.

Hey there, I think your issue may be more about timing. Murray Canal will produce walleye in spring, toss jigs tipped with worms from shore at the canal in mid to late May.
You can get nice specs and bows at Butler creek in May and June. There are some nice holes in that creek from start to finish.
You may also want to try shore fishing at the Price Chopper mouth of the river in Trenton in spring for walleye.
Presquile Point, I have had no luck with trying to find perch this year. Seems a bit too sandy and shallow.

Good day Gerritt! Can't help you with the shore fishing but hopefully we'll see you in a couple of weeks at the Vue.

If you can find the LCBO in the Village of Wellington, then you have the Village docks....
