Quinte Fishing

My son and I decided to wet a line this morning. Little late but great to get out. Lines in the water in front of the cement plant at 10:30am. Marked nothing for half an hour so decided we would give Thompson a whirl. Water temp was 43.3 and marked a few bait balls and hooks. They were stacked up from 18 to 40 feet of water over 50 feet of water. We stayed there until 1:30 and it only produced two pike. One was 5.5 and the other was just shy of 5 pounds. Both were caught on a perch reef runner. We tried all different colours but the perch colour was the one. To me, it looks more like a Gobi colour. Both pike hit at 2.0mph. I knew that was quick for Wallskies, but there was no action for two hours at 1.8 and 1.9mph. Really wanted to hitt Keith's Shoal, but ran out of time. Hopefully someone post a report, if they were out that way. Dave
