All's well that ends well. Good times, lots of laughs, fishing on the other hand was limited. Friday we started at the gap and trolling west. One beauty of a fish I reeled almost up to the boat when Gerritt decided to reach for the fish and bumped the bait knocking the fish off. 30"+ fish - only one of the day for my boat. Our buddies in the other boat got one about 7 pounds if I remember correctly.
Saturday started in Hay Bay to the Cement plant down past the ferry to Keith's Shoal. 1 - 6.5 pounder for Cliff. Ran back to Hay Bay for the last hour and Gerritt gets a 9.5 pounder. End of day 2.
Sunday, found the battery in the truck was dead. Got a boost from Mike, got a new battery in Napanee and launched in Deseronto around 11:30am and back to Hay Bay. Managed a nice pike, and 8.25 pound walleye and lost one. Went to start the boat and battery was dead.(well not enough juice to start the motor) Luckily I always carry a set of booster cables and got it started with the trolling motor battery.
Taildancers, Mann's, Reef Runners took the fish back 125 to 175. All different colours took fish, don't think one bait got more then a fish. Perch patterns and purples seemed to be a general pattern
Made it back to the launch and loaded up and headed home around 4:30. Tough weekend of fishing for us but good times were had by all.
