Hello all,

I'm sad to report that last week Donna Eastman, owner of Cedar Point Resort in Hay Bay, passed away.

Our group has been staying at CPR for a long, long time. Both Donna and her husband John have always treated us like family and she will be missed dearly.

Knowing others here have stayed there and had the plesure of beig around John and Donna, I figured I'd share this sad news and more importantly, wish all the best for the Eastman family and let them know our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Donna was a great ole Gal. I could never get away with a quick visit when I stopped by. She would always tell me about how the customers were doing and how the fishing has been. Most of her customers became long time repeat business which speaks to the great job her and John did. She will be missed for sure and my thoughts and prayers for John and family. When I started this site they were one of the firsts to start advertising on here and I'm going to miss visiting them.

Couldn't agree more, Dan.

She also made the best dish-scrubbies that were sold out of their store for a crazy, cheap price. We were always told by our wives to make sure we'd buy up all she had to bring home.

Donna (and John) made sure we were always taken care good care of and were safe. She was more of a Den-Mother and family to us than the operator of the business.

Cheers

Very saddened to hear of Donna's passing. Donna and John were a large part of my son, Tyler, and best friend, Mikes early fishing experiences. From early teens to young men, our spring trip was always an enjoyable time full of memories - Donna putting her passed cat in the freezer - the young men will always remember this story foundly. My Buddy, Martin White, had a serious heart attack last winter, yet we made the Cedar Point trip. Thinking of you John and the family.
