I set a goal this fall to try my best to stay on the Browns in Lake O. I've never really caught Browns until January, often spending the fall chaing Smallies. This fall I was able to catch Browns in September and October, but not in November. Excited to get back on the horse for December, I took the day off work and gave her a shot this morning.

We arrived at Pt D just after first light and quickly launched.

Our plan was to ditch the ditch and head right into the lake. Arriving to the pier head we found a beautiful quiet lake. Where to go?

East?

West?

Nah, lets stay put and try our luck here. Setting out two long lines and two inlines we worked the mouth for a couple hours.

Unfortunately it was not to be at Pt Dalhousie. Off we went in search of Mr Brown Trout. After having the cold morning air blast us in the face for a few minutes we arrived at spot number two.

This time we set up an even shallower spread and started working in tight. It wasn't long when the long line was hit hard. I love it when the long line fires. Although the water temps were in the low 40's, the beautiful brown provided an entertaining battle, finally allowing Andre to slip the net under her.

Did a couple more passes without any more action so we continued our way West until we reached Jordan. Pulled a long line and dropped a rigger to shake it up a bit.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Although the morning only provided one fish, it was enough to inspire me to get back on the lake again. What a great day. The run back to Port was beautiful. December?! How can I complain. Beauty weather and an even better Brown.

Steve

The browns still there in the fall, and we would fish them, cept for the walleyes(albeit scarce as they are to us). We had thought of trying for the browns and bows but we lost a access point to the fishing grounds and have decided to wait til March for the browns.

Good Job with them in your area. Lotsa Luck when you come down and target the walleyes.
