was just wondering if the walleye had started running yet or what stage they were at

The walleye should be spawning about now. One tell tale sign that the run is at or near completion if that suckers appear (also spawning....slightly higher temp). Shoal spawners usually take much longer, given the varying temps and conditions throughout BOQ.

As much as I am telling you this information....lol.....I am many thousands of miles away....trout and salmon land. I have a bit of experience with BOQ conditions, etc. that I thought might help you.

different this year though Don. for some reason suckers are coming in first and walleye are yet to come...must be a reason

Our weather and. env. changes are, or could be a likley tie in. Make no mistake.....things are changing rather quickly.

Yesterday at noon I went down to the Moira river and didn't see any eyes about. Today while driving through town on my way to work you could smell the fish in the air. At lunch today I went back down to the Moira river and the eyes were everywhere from the Bridge St bridge to the footbridge.

There have been fish in the Moira since last week. My budy was at the ladies parlour last Thursday when he came out after midnight there were 4-6 individuals spearing walleye, rather succesfuly I might add!!!!
