Fished May 14-16 with my buddy Bugnethead. Landed 22 walleye over the three days. Weather and winds changed every day. Friday hot and muggy, Sat cloudy rain and sorta warm, Sunday am cold and cloudy with east-north-east wind, Sunday mid-day sunny and no wind, Sunday evening a perfect west walleye wind with clouds. Fished primarily just west of Ram. Drifted, trolled area from green marker buoy in channel to flag on north shore All but three ‘eyes were caught in exactly 12’ feet of water where the new weed growth starts. One was caught at 8’ and two suspended just south of green boy in 17’. Of interest is that 18 were caught on a green and yellow erie deerie with worm. Of the other 4 three were on shad rap, and one on orange worm harness. About 10 walleye were under the slot and the rest were in the slot. No big fish landed. We did catch several very nice large pike. Ministry guys were out Sat and Sun although Sunday was for creel survey.
At Shermans – marked nothing caught none and worms were gobbled up by those darn Gobbies.
My spring walleye fishing tip for Quinte is that when the lilac are in bloom the walleye fishing is the best. They are in bloom now so this week should be great. Good luck!
