I posted this is the Quinte Bass Champs sticky above but reposting here to see if I get any reponse.

I'm sure a bunch of people on the board fish this tournament. Do you guys see all types and sizes of boats out there? Next year I plan on purchasing a larger boat but right now all I have is a 14 aluminum and we use a large cooler with areator installed as a live well. I would love to fish this but want to make sure we meet the requirements.

I know the boat is long enough but are there many guys out there in 14ft aluminum boats? Also, does anybody know if an aerated cooler will meet the requirements?

Thanks for any info.

J

This is all I run. Nothing special. I like it better than the bigger boats. I can run this boat in 8" of water and get back into those shallow back bays no problem. I bought this boat with just the three bench seats in it and built everything in it. As long as your live well circulates water, your motor is rated for your boat and has a kill switch and you have insurance then you're good to go.

Rule 1 - must be 14 or larger, working kill switch, aerated livewell. As long as you meet those recs; I say go for it! In terms of livewell; it will be inspected and verified as operational. For all intents and purposes, your cooler probably uses the exact same Rule/Attwood 800Gph pump that a bassboat uses. Most studies say 1 gallon of water per. lbs of fish as a MIN; so gauge the cooler size as needed.

Having the biggest and the fastest is not an advantage in this tounry.

So looks like I should be good to go except for the insurance. Will have to see if my current auto/home insurer will provide this to me.

Thanks guys

Isn't there a membership you can get through Ontario federation of angler and hunter that gets you your million in coverage.

I was talking with the woman working the Ontario out of doors booth last night at the sportsman show & If I understand this correctly the million dollar coverage simply comes with a subscription I think it's 59 dollars or you can upgrade and get the same thing plus a nice goody bag of gear worth 200 bucks. That ones 89 I believe. Can anyone back that? Or am I completely on the wrong channel lol
