Got out with a friend tonight for a quick fish. Launched at 7:30 and decided to try pike for a bit to no avail. At 9:00 we headed back to the dock and PBSeeker joined us. Trolled for a while with no hits, so off to shallower water we went. We ended up fishing between 6 and 12 feet of water casting Husky Jerks and we managed to land 7 eyes, all between 2 and 5 pounds, between 10:00 and 11:00. We also lost 3. Slow presentation was key as many of the hits came near the boat and a lot of them came when the bait was paused for a second or two between twitches. Most fish came where weeds were within 5 feet of the surface in about 12 FOW. Our friend from TO had not caught a walleye in almost 20 years, and has only caught 1 in his life, and he got 3 tonight so definitely a worthwhile night on the water.
