There was someone on here looking for Nipigon fishing info. Just got back from Northern Superior Charters Inc. easiest way to describe the fishing was absolutely amazing, world class, and best you have ever seen. Lakers where like catching sunfish off the dock with a worm. Lots of rainbows, speckles, whitefish, salmon and walleye.

Specks had to be 22 inches to keep our biggest where 21 inches.

Here some pics, if anyone is interested in more info. msg me. It is a must of a trip for anyone who loves fishing.

Sounds like a great trip. I love the variety of species like that. I didn't know rainbows and salmon were in Nipigon or did you fish Superior for those?

Who runs Northern Superior Charters? I lived in Nipigon for 7 years when I worked for Bell Canada and at the time it was Dave Brennan but he passed away, not only is the fishing good but the north shore of Superior (and Ignace Island) is unmatched in rugged beauty, as good as any in Canada. That drive from Sault st Marie to Thunder bay is pretty special. Glad you had a good trip

I was up there fishing the river myself recently. Lots of lakers. I admire your mix that was caught....that was on my wishlist.

Yes Dave Brennan has passed but his 2 sons Dave Jr. and Ian have taken over the business. They had to decide to sell or do it right. They decided to do it right, they built another cabin and bought some more boats, made lots of up grades, and bought a 2nd 30ft Stanley steel boat to get gear and guys to and from the island. They both are great guys, very informative, and Dave jr even spent the first night and took some guys fishing to show them some hot spots to get the ball rolling.

Sorry they are out of Nipigon / Red rock area and you fish Lake Superior.

Just did the trip myself. Fished Marathon area for coasters then hit the nipigon river. Amazing fishing as usual and hands down best area in Ontario for specks.

Great pics thanks for sharing.
