Hey guys, I was out on the bay today and met a nice young high school student Nick who is offering snacks and such from his boat on the water. His summer business is Snacks Afloat , what a great idea and very enterprising for a student. If you can, buy some snacks or worms if u see him and help support a student with initiative.

Wasn't there a place near the Church 20+ years ago that had a store on the water?

...what a fantastic idea!

Theres a guy out of Kemptville on the Rideau that runs a pontoon boat with icream cones and such all summer. Runs the boat up on the beachs then out for those going by...what a concept.

I've joked about this for a while. Would be awesome to do it in the winter and sell coffee and hot lunch

He should post a phone number or something so he can be located easier. I cant even count the number of times I have underestimated how much water I needed for the day. Especially if you are tournament fishing and dont want to loose the fishing time.

Got to hand it to the students enterpriseing smarts...hope he has a ""vendors permit"".
A long time back a fellow had the same idea that started at a opening day Walleye weekend T.
He had a large floating platform with an ice shack on it with a few floating dock arms for docking. In the shack he had a propane grill and brewed coffee, made up hot dogs, etc.
He was doing so well several boats were always in waiting to get served, AND THEN!! the OPP showed up with the ministry and shut him down, with not having a vendors permit as well as a few safety violations.
I'm always glad to see them on the water doing their job but this move was a little disappointing...I didn't get to have my turn for a hot coffee and a hotdog.
As I remember hearing he got off with a warning...but if someone was to "do it right", I think they might do just fine.
Good Luck young man!!
