Hi everyone, I recently bought a boat and its in need of some love. The motor has a alarm going off and the motor is fairly loud at high rpm (above 4k) Looking for a good mechanic with lots of experience in mercruiser. It's a 5.7 L 1996 with alpha 1 outdrive.

It is currently at a shop on quinte that is not having any luck finding the issue after having it for 2 weeks so I am going to have to pull it from them likely unless they figure it out really soon.

Preferable location would be towards Kingston as opposed to Belleville way.

Thanks
BigMac

Try Wards Marine in Kingston or even Quinte Marine and Cycle near Deseronto

You could try Bullet engines in Kingston, his shop is beside mine and all he works on is inboards.

update:

will be getting boat back Monday. Not fixed, now starter is burnt out from "testing". What an experience this has been. So far not any sympathy from this marina. Hopefully when the owner calls me he is better and is willing to own some of this. How it sits for 3 weeks just to find out they wont do the work and have it more broken then when I dropped it off is beyond me. Im sure its a one off but this has been my worst ever experience in having a repair done on a car, truck or any vehicle. Very unfortunate
