HI, Fished both lakes and prefer east lake .lots of large bass ,both large mouth and small mouth not bad for pike either. to catch walleye try just of the island along the shore with the big trailer park or right across from the island about 100 yards off shore ,try that whole side of the lake. good luck and good fishing :D

West Lake has been providing some great meals for anyone fishing out of our campground. Walleye are not large, but then if they were you would have to put them back. Seems most are caught in the 16" to 18" range. I know this past Saturday there was some nice catchs early in the morning with Mepps and worms.

I have never fished East Lake, but West I have had many-a-good days on. Mosly I fish off the Wellington pier, once in a while I'll rent a boat. Off the pier I've got several bass, Largemouth and Smallmouth, the biggest being about 5 lbs. Countless pike, the biggest being 9.69 lbs. some Walleye (only are caught at night off the pier), the biggest being 26 1/2 inches. all kinds of panfish, the odd catfish, and even an 8 lb Lake Trout, etc... Aside from my experiences, I have heard that the average fish in West Lake is larger than those in East, but I have no idea personally since I have never actually fished in East. Most of the pike and walleye are caught on 4-5 inch rapalas or smithwicks (silver is usually best). I have had most luck with 7 inch black berkley power worms texas rigged for the bass.
