Will troll Adolphus reach for walleyes in 2 or 3 weeks for first time & have a few questions on my mind.

- How long (& what size) of a fluoro leader should I use at the end of my power pro braid ?

- What are your 4 or 5 favorite colours for TDD11 & Reef runners ?

- After a test run, I realized my TDD11 & Reef Runners are pulling down so much that the front of my Church Tackle Walleye boards is complettely out of the water, (even with the lead weight all the way towards the front of the board). Anyone ever made a succesfull modification to these boards ?

Thanks for any feedbacks.
(You can't buy happyness but you can buy a new rod & reel and thats pretty close....)

Aim for purples and greens. Seems to be most consistent.

Muskyman,

1) 25ft of 14lb-17lb sufix invisiline works well for me matched with a max of 30lb braid

2) colors, well they all have their days but like the fellas above said purples and greens work well consistently.

3) As far as your boards go they should track fine, but if your set on making an adjustment; for leadcore on the big lake I made a small adjustment by:
a) taking the rear screw out,
b) drilling a third hole the same distance in front of the front screw,
c) and then slide the weight forward and replace the rear screw in the new hole,

The adjustment allows the weight to be adjusted further forward putting more board in the water and creating alot more pull. This should do the trick for ya you'll have to play with them a bit once you get on the water to get them dialed in but it should'nt take much.

Good Luck,

Thanks for asking that Muskyman, I was just logging on to do the same! I'm heading out for my first quinte trip in a week and a half! I can't wait!!

Can anyone tell me what knot to use to join the braid to fluorocarbon?

Kevin

Depending on the air Temps you may want to have some Reels spooled up with Mono incase the braid starts to freeze up on ya.
I Run about 3x my Rod length in 15lb Fluorocarbon and I tie a double surgeons knot when going to Mono and a Tripple surgeons knot when going to braid.
I'll be out there from Nov 26-29th. I'll let you know how we do.
Good Luck

Yup leadcore is very popular. I personally don't have it but soon will. I use snap weights to get stick baits down as needed

We have had some success with blue/chrome as well, plus purples and greens as mentioned. We usually run a 6 rods spread when we are east of the ferry in my boat, usually 1 rod is a 3 colour lead with a shallow running minnow bait and we often run a 10 colour core with a spoon to mix things up, if boat traffic is not too heavy. I also use clip weights or torpedo weights or dipsey divers to get lures down with different presentations.
