If anyone has information on silver lake ice fishing or could let me know who to call and ask for ice conditions it would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to make the hour and a half drive to find sketchy 3" ice. I've been ice fishing the past 2 weeks now on 3"-5" and want to hit silver lake for some trout with the new flasher!

Yeah, I'm talking about the one by sharbot lake. I called both provincial parks and they are both closed which I figured. Are there any cottage rentals on that lake or is there a store right by the lake? Just need a phone number so I can make a phone call and see if they can tell me if people have been out or not yet.

You can use the Ontario Snowmobile interactive map. the main trail goes across the east end of the lake. Keep looking until it is listed as open!! please use as a guideline only, there is 10/15 fow where the trail passes and does not imply the remainder of the lake is good to go!!!

Hi guys,
I drove by there on Sunday and the water was very open. Seems like it will be a while yet...

Any other lakes within 2 hours of Belleville worth trying for lakers? I've tried shabomeka twice last year with no success. Didn't have a flasher but this year I do so I'm hoping that helps a bit.

Loughborough Lake just north of Kingston, on the west end. It's probably the last to freeze around here though.
