I have the Marcum LX5 and really couldnt be happier. All of my ice fishing partners have the vexilar units which are good units but the Marcum has just as good clarity/ separation/and all the little goodies (bottom lock/ zoom) at a way cheaper price. Oh, and the Marcum has more wattage. What the extra wattage is good for I dont know, but it has at least double what the Vex has.

I just got the LX7, I'm hoping they're as good as the reviews I've read. Forum member Jeff C would be the man to ask if you have any questions about a Marcum.

I have used them all. Vexilar, humminbird and marcum. They are all great units and really boil down to feature differences. The bird is a great unit you can't go wrong with an ice 55. But as far as marcum goes the lx7/9 units are awesome they seem to have the best interference rejection of all the units so when someone is sitting close to u with another unit you will not be watching noise lines across your screen from nearby units.
