Most impressive Muskies for sure but there have been bigger caught this year , IGFA has created a new release record category , this does not mean they are considered a world record by the Muskie fishing community. That still belongs at the present time to Ken Obrian at 65 lbs , there has been many arguments / battles over what truly is the world record , Their has been a new organization started that has a panel of judges ,it is called the Modern day world record Muskie association that has established defined rules basicly you have to kill it to prove your catch ,that record stands at 58 lbs , like I said their has been several fish caught this year that are most definatly bigger , but as the saying goes "If you don't weigh it , you can't say it "

If you go to Muskies first web site you will see Julie Cashinback's fish that she caught while fishing with Dale McNair this year , two others that I personaly know of you will never see any pictures of , they do not want the limelight , also check out Mr Carltons fish caught on Dec 4 with Mike Lazarus 8O , much bigger fish for sure , , I've known Bob Walters of WaterWolf Charters ( the charter boat the fish was caught on ) for a few years now and he will even tell you he has caught bigger. That does not diminish the fact that they caught a monster ,,,, congrats are warranted good job Guy's

Perhaps but this guy puts it in an IGFA measuring device and takes pics. If we all believed wvwrytime someone caught a 14lb walleye on quinte they would be common lol

The guy admits there have been bigger fish caught, it's just impressive that he is getting it certified

Ok

Your comment made it sound like anyone that doesn't post a pic with an IGFA measuring device is full of poop....

Fish like this are being caught every year... Just not everyone talks about their catch online for the world to see...

And years ago some guides didn't care about records... My grandfather was a guide most of his life... His biggest measured 56" to the inside of the fork... Not the tip... I know it's just an old story... But I believe it....

Congrats to the angler if it all goes through...
