I heard the ice is weird because while quinte got freezing rain north got more snow which insulated the ice. The word is some spots have 10 inches then some have 2 inches and covered in slush!

Don't want to highjack the thread. Just registered for the first time and had a question about Lake Moira. Used to come up back in the mid-eighties during the summer. Wouldn't mind trying it through the ice. The last time we were there we were told the fish weren't safe to eat due to arsenic from the gold mines up river. Is it still an issue or are we better off going to BOQ? By the way, we stayed at Pitts Landing camp ground. I do know the owner Jim Pitts passed away several years ago. Is there any rentals available on the lake yet? Thanks for any info. Lou
