Are you using a flasher? I find fish are hugging bottom but once I aggressive jig and they commit to leaving bottom it doesn't take much to get them to hit. All fish I have cleaned have been loaded with minnows and that's not stopping them from biting.

Sunday was a great day for fishing depending on where you were fishing i guess. I didn't get out for the morning bite that I hear was really good in some of the more common areas. The gf and I got out just before noon, in an area with not as many people around as the more popular fishing holes. I think that may have been key. My girlfriend started the day off with her first Quinte gold. Finally after over a dozen or so trips that she has joined me on. lol. Its exciting to catch your own fish but to see someone else catch fish like that is priceless! We had the walleye biting all thru the day/evening. Had a couple hr long stints without a mark on the flasher then when all hope was lost, bang another one. lol This was one hole I was determined not to leave and it paid off.. While other people i know that were out, that usually catch lots of fish didn't mark a thing or only got into very little, it seemed like a good day to be trying some place a little different.
